Plans and develops programs for the treatment and rehabilitation of persons with alcohol and drug dependency problems. Referrals to substance abuse treatment for adolescents and adults are provided. The staff also develops policies and programs for the prevention of alcohol and drug abuse.

Provides financial assistance for individuals currently undergoing breast cancer treatment or living with Metastatic Breast Cancer. Awards may be used for treatment-related expenses, such as: housing, utilities, transportation, child and elder care, food, side-effect management medication, oral treatment medication, medical equipment, lymphedema care and supplies, palliative care, and home health care.

Provides financial assistance for families whose children have experienced an illness or condition not covered by insurance, state or federal programs, or other sources such as fundraising. Services include: care in acute or specialized hospitals, specialized pediatric ambulatory care, addiction/mental health treatment, transportation, and experimental treatments.

Provides medical assistance and support to low-income children, up to age 18, who have complex medical diagnoses and developmental disabilities. Assistance is provided via specialized equipment, supplies, therapy toys, adapted activity program fees, and camperships.

Offers specific medical benefits to pregnant women, needy children, the aged, and the blind. Also disabled individuals whose income and assets are too high to qualify them for the Medicaid Only Program.

Program for Aliens may cover medical bills related to the treatment of an emergency medical condition and is only for NJ residents who meet other Medicaid eligibility requirements except for their US citizenship/legal status. Undocumented immigrants or immigrants who do not have legal permanent resident status for 5 years may apply if they have a recent medical emergency,   

Provides emergency financial assistance, interest-free loans, grants, financial counseling, Quick Assist Loans (QAL), emergency travel assistance, disaster relief, Budget for Baby workshops, thrift shop services, and referrals to additional military family support resources for eligible Navy and Marine Corps personnel and their families.

Offers increased access to dental care for senior citizens. Individuals receive a list of participating dentists in their area, a benefits letter, and a minimum courtesy reduction of 15% to service fees.

Offers coverage for cancer treatment to uninsured women through the Medicaid program. Eligible persons receive full Medicaid fee for service coverage during the time that the woman needs cancer treatment, including inpatient hospital, doctors' visits, prescriptions. 

Serves as an adoption resource center that serves pregnant women of any age, their partners, and families. Provides options counseling, help in finding prenatal care, assistance in pregnancy-related expenses, and varying degrees of openness in adoption placement.
