Promotes and ensures the full inclusion of people with disabilities in the community. The staff directs efforts toward working with individual consumers, who face difficulties in areas of housing, employment, transportation, remaining independent in the homes, assists with completing applications for immigration, Social Security, and other financial benefit programs. Special services are also offered for underserved minorities who have disabilities.
Provides a Thanksgiving dinner for anyone in need during the holiday. The dinner occurs on the Wednesday before Thanksgiving day.
Assists male adolescents and youth in transitional living situations, offering structured support for those at risk of losing their placement or lacking family resources. Residents stay 6 to 18 months in a group home or up to one year in a supported apartment, where they develop independent living plans, receive life and social skills training, and obtain employment and education assistance.
