Trained and certified staff members can help individual consumers understand health coverage options, complete eligibility forms, and enroll in a plan through the health insurance marketplace. The NJ FamilyCare Children's Health Insurance Program (CHIP) is also available to those who qualify.  

Assists various demographics with career and vocational counseling, including unemployed or underemployed workers, downsized management, senior citizens, people with disabilities, older workers, individuals considering mid-life career changes, current college students, recent college graduates, graduate students, and individuals returning to the workforce. Additional services provided encompass career workshops, job placement assistance, literacy programs, adult basic education, resume and cover letter aid, interview preparation, job search strategies, and ESL support.

Delivers a nutritionally-balanced meal and assurance check each weekday to home-bound seniors. Two cold meals for weekend consumption are provided for participants on Fridays.

Provides a full-service community wellness facility offering fitness programs, wellness coaching, aquatics, group exercise, youth and family programs, and chronic disease prevention initiatives.

Serves as the national resource center dedicated to the prevention of elder mistreatment. Provides news and resources available on-line and an easy-to-use format, collaborates on research, provides training, identifies and provides information about promising practices and interventions, operates a list serve forum for professionals, and provides subject matter expertise on program development.  

Provide family planning medical services including exams, STD testing and treatment, pregnancy testing, contraceptives, and related education and counseling.

Provide sterile syringes and harm reduction supplies through Project Access, NJCRI’s anonymous needle‑exchange program for individuals actively using injection drugs in Newark, offered in a low‑barrier, client‑centered setting.

Assists elderly, handicapped and low-income persons in weatherizing their homes. Also improving their heating system efficiency and conserving energy.  

Operate a 24-hour emergency hotline for residents to report no heat, no hot water, and other winter-related housing emergencies.

Provides various intensive outpatient programs for individuals with psychiatric and/or substance abuse disorders, offering specialized services such as a daytime psychiatric program for young adults, after-school programs for adolescents, dual diagnosis treatment for adults and young adults, evening addiction recovery programs for adults, and trauma/DBT programs for men and women. Program goals include establishing safety, teaching coping skills, fostering healthy emotion management, and building self-esteem.   

Provides burial assistance to eligible recipients. For those who have received or are receiving WFNJ, Medicaid, or SSI assistance.

Provides income‑restricted housing offering one-, two- and three‑bedroom apartments for families and single adults in a multi‑building residential community. Includes fully equipped kitchens, on‑site laundry facilities, fitness room, computer lab, community center, and professional on‑site property management.

Offers nutrition education tailored to individual needs, community-based workshops and presentations, resources to support healthy eating and wellness, information for caregivers on nutrition practices, and guidance from nutrition educators.
