Delivers free services to Union County residents living with HIV/AIDS, featuring a year-long transitional housing program for single, homeless men. The program provides extensive support, encompassing case management, substance abuse and mental health treatment, education, medication management, and employment assistance, all geared towards facilitating their transition to permanent housing. Furthermore, the Housing Opportunities for Persons with AIDS (HOPWA) initiative extends financial aid for rent, security deposits, and utilities to low-income, HIV-positive individuals at risk of homelessness.

LIHEAP Overview

Assists with heating and medically necessary cooling costs during designated program periods. Payments are typically made directly to the utility company or fuel supplier, ensuring continuity of service. Available to both homeowners and renters who meet income and residency requirements.

USF Overview

Offers monthly credits on electric and/or gas bills to reduce ongoing energy costs. Designed for households that spend a significant portion of their income on energy. Helps prevent service interruptions and promotes long-term affordability.   

Operates the only domestic violence emergency shelter in Middlesex County. Provides a fully equipped kitchen, backyard and/or playroom, a fully stocked food and/or baby pantry, new clothing, clean linens, toiletries, and school supplies as well as toys and books for children. 

Provides temporary financial assistance to individuals and families who have been impacted by a long-term illness, injury, or disability. Provides grants to qualifying individuals in the tri-state area for health-related needs, as well as for family and household needs.

Provides outpatient and intensive outpatient treatment for individuals with substance use disorders and co-occurring mental health conditions.

Financial counseling staff assist all patients with their healthcare bills, both within and outside of the health system. Patients can receive assistance in getting into Medicaid or apply for the Health Insurance Marketplace during open enrollment. Patients can also receive assistance in getting Charity Care to help them pay for their medical bills.

Provides community-based health, wellness, youth development, and social responsibility programs including fitness, aquatics, child care, summer camps, senior services, and family support activities.

Partners with BGCM to sponsor a full day, 8-week summer program, focusing on STEM and Arts or STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Math). Before and after care is available. The STEAM program also encompasses an international cultural immersion experience which will include students from China, Spain, and/or France.

Provdies support to help children attend summer camp.

Provides an acute day, MICA intensive program for adult suffering from mental illness. Program is 6 to 8 weeks long and referrals are provided to less intensive treatments.

Provides avenues for accessing education, support, and resources, facilitating a well-rounded lifestyle encompassing physical, emotional, spiritual, intellectual, social, occupational, environmental, and financial wellness. Additionally, it actively combats loneliness and isolation, fosters empowerment and leadership, and serves as a catalyst for personal growth.

Provides 24/7 crisis response and clinical outreach for older adults, ages 55 and older, who reside in nursing facilities and are having a mental health crisis. Services are offered out of screening centers, psychiatric inpatient units, and long term care facilities and include: On-site assessments, Consultations, Clinical interventions, and Short term counseling. Trainings are also available for this program.

Allows individuals with intellectual/developmental disabilities to live independently in the community. Individuals in the program receive weekly instruction in areas such as: Banking, Budgeting, Travel training, Socialization. Participants in the program are required to contribute to their living expenses.  

Supports local Kinship caregivers by helping them access essential services such as family support groups, Medicaid, and legal assistance. The program offers financial aid and subsidies based on income and legal guardianship status, along with ongoing guidance for Kinship Legal Guardianship to ensure caregivers receive the resources and support they need.

Provides various support services for blind and visually-impaired individuals. Services include: information and referral, Braille instruction, peer support groups, advocacy, JAWS and Zoom Text computer classes, Stand Along Reading Apparatus (SARA) classes, white cane instruction assistance, and access to aids and appliances.

Provides wrap-around resources and support for families and the community. Core services include health, social, legal services, education classes, information and referrals, parent-child activities, employment-ready programs, financial literacy, housing related services, and advocacy.    

Offers a confidential, faith-based support group for individuals who have lost a loved one and are looking to share their feelings with others with similar experiences. Meetings are presentation and discussion-based.
