Conducts quarterly tests of the auditory alert system for the area surrounding the nuclear power plant facility, with sirens tested on the first Tuesday of January, April, July, and October. These sirens, part of the Alert and Notification System (ANS) for the Salem Hope Creek Nuclear Generating Stations in Lower Alloways Creek, include 34 sirens in New Jersey and 37 sirens in Delaware. In case of an emergency, the sirens emit warning signals to the public at risk, prompting them to seek further information from Emergency Alert System messages.
