Eligibility
To be eligible for health coverage through the Health Insurance Individual Marketplace, applicants:
- must live in the United States
- must be a U.S. citizen or national (or be lawfully present)
- can't be currently incarcerated
Required documents
Birth certificate, ID with address, proof of citizenship, proof of immigration status (I-94), proof of income eligibility, Social Security card/number, W-2 form.

Trained and certified staff members can help individual consumers understand health coverage options, complete eligibility forms, and enroll in a plan through the health insurance marketplace. The NJ FamilyCare Children's Health Insurance Program (CHIP) is also available to those who qualify.
