Eligibility
Open to all residential heating customers of Elizabethtown Gas that meet the following guidelines:
  • Customer income should fall between 201 - 400% of poverty or are facing a crisis situation.
  • Customers are limited to one grant per year
  • All crisis situations will require approval from Elizabethtown Gas
Required documents
Application/registration forms, proof of household income, utility disconnection notice.

Application process
Call for more information or visit the website to download an application form. Applicants must have the following documents to be eligible for assistance.
  • Gas bill needs to be in the name of the applicant applying for assistance
  • Customer must show proof of income for all persons living in the household over 18 years of age or older. Such proof must include:
1. Four consecutive weeks of pay stubs if paid weekly 2. Two paystubs if paid bi-weekly 3. Applicants can also provide award letters from Social Security 4. Proof of identity with picture (i.e. Driver’s License, DMV ID Card, Passport,)
Fees
Applicants must have made a good faith payment of $100 in the last 60 days.
Service area
Middlesex County, NJ

Provides a one-time grant of up to $450 towards a gas heating bill for Elizabethtown Gas customers who are facing a temporary financial hardship or family crisis. Grants are subject to the availability of funding.
