Recruits people of all ages who would like to volunteer their time and talents to assist various county departments and/or programs, and will assist anyone interested in volunteering in general. Volunteer programs includes handyman program, tax assistance program, tutoring program (K-12), and State Health Insurance Assistance Program (SHIP).

Manages, administers, plans, coordinates, and monitors a range of human services, including aging, community development, mental health, youth, juvenile detention, veterans, and volunteer services. The Department of Human Services oversees councils and advisory committees aimed at promoting social well-being, increasing public awareness on mental health, aging, youth services, community development, substance abuse, workforce development, and services for the disabled.
