Eligibility
Open to families in the service area who meet the following criteria:
- Are purchasing their first home, and have not owned a home in the last 3 years (exceptions for divorced or inadequately housed individuals apply);
- Are seeking to occupy the purchased home;
- Must be able to contribute a minimum of $500 down payment from own funds;
- Household income of no more than 80% of median income;
- Property to be purchased must meet City Code Standards (some exceptions can apply);
- Must attend and complete pre-purchase counseling with designated non-profit housing agency prior to settlement
Required documents
Proof of income within the last 2 months for all household members, previous two years of W-2s and 1040 tax return forms, executed agreement of sale, last 3 months of bank statements from checking and savings accounts, copy of private lender's mortgage application, proof of identity and address of the private lender, birth certificates for all household members under the age of 18
