Application process
Call the hotline or leave an unharmed baby less than 30 days old with staff at any hospital emergency room, police station, fire station, ambulance, or first aid or rescue squad.

Allows a distressed parent who is unable or unwilling to care for infant (up to 30 days old) to give them up safely, legally, and anonymously. As long as the baby has not been abused, the person may do so without fear of arrest or prosecution, no name or identifying information is required. The child will be examined and given medical treatment, if needed. The Division of Child Protection and Permanency (DCP&P) will take custody of the child and place them in a foster or pre-adoptive home.
