Open to anyone with an income at or below 250% of the federal poverty guidelines.

Required documents

Photo ID, proof of income (tax returns, benefit statements), utility account in your name, and household size with income for each members.

Offers a free energy saving and energy education program for qualified low-income customers. Eligible participants receive installation of cost-effective energy efficiency measures, such as efficient lighting products, hot water conservation measures, etc. All efficiency measures and energy education services are provided free of charge.

NJ Board of Public Utilities (BPU)
Operates as the state agency with authority to oversee the regulated utilities, which in turn provide critical services such as natural gas, electricity, water, telecommunications and cable television.  The BPU also has responsibility for monitoring utility service and responding to consumer complaints.
