Eligibility

Open to homeowners in the service are who mee the following criteria
  • Must be the owner-occupant of property for a minimum of one (1) year prior to date of application;
  • Are within income eligibility guidelines;
  • Have current municipal obligations (taxes, water, and sewer) at time of application;
Priority is given to senior citizens and applicants with no prior assistance.

Required documents

Property deed, proof of income for all family members and occupants (minimum of 3 recent pay stubs, award letters from Social Security, welfare, pension, or child support orders), previous two years of 1040 tax returns and W-2s from all employers, copies of recent bank statements from checking and/or savings accounts, proof of identity for all household members

Assists home owners in saving on energy and monthly utility costs by upgrading existing heating systems, insulating exterior walls, and educating on energy conservation. Also addresses life safety improvements and restoration of the exterior facades, which includes replacement of windows, entry doors, etc. The maximum value of the assistance cannot exceed $18,500, and the eventual scope of work will be determined by an inspection of the property and a subsequent report describing the eligible repairs and their projected costs.
