NJ FamilyCare | NJ Division of Medical Assistance and Health Services

Eligibility
Open to residents of any age can be eligible for NJ FamilyCare. Applicants must be NJ residents, US citizens or qualified immigrants lawfully admitted for permanent residence, and their family meets the program rules. This includes children, parents, caretaker relatives, and adults without dependent children. Eligibility is based on the income and household size that was reported on applicant's latest federal tax return.

Fees
For most children and all adults, there is no premium or co-pay. For higher income families with children, there is a sliding scale for co-payments and monthly premiums.

Provides access to free or low-cost health insurance for uninsured children and adults. NJ FamilyCare offers full health care coverage through health plans contracted by the state. The program covers hospitalization, physician care, lab, x-ray, prescription drugs, mental health, dental, vision and hearing treatment and more. Multilingual operators are available.
