Maintain disease control programs to protect the health and well-being of livestock in New Jersey through the Division of Animal Health. Track emerging diseases worldwide that may impact the state, conduct epidemiological investigations, and operate an animal health diagnostic laboratory. Manage two contagious equine metritis quarantine facilities for imported horses and support a robust livestock welfare program. Additionally, the Division is involved in animal emergency preparedness and response during disasters affecting the health, safety, and welfare of animals and their owners.
