Seeks to assist primarily Temporary Assistance to Needy Families (TANF) and General Assistance (GA) recipients with employment-directed services such as job search, counseling and training in order that clients obtain financial self-sufficiency. In addition to TANF/GA benefits, participants receive payments for childcare, transportation, and other work-related expenses. Usually, clients losing TANF eligibility, due to employment, continue to receive Medicaid, Food Stamps, and subsidized childcare.
