Bergen/Passaic County residents, both HIV positive and negative, with substance abuse issues; must be drug-free or methadone-compliant. Clients struggling with addictions beyond narcotics or alcohol are also accepted

Fees

Medicaid and a sliding-scale fee system. Medicaid application assistance is available. Individuals are not turned away due to inability to pay.

Provides an intensive outpatient substance abuse program catering to individuals both positive and negative for HIV (Human Immunodeficiency Virus). Structured and supervised, the programs are tailored to the patient's treatment needs. Over a 9 to 12-month period, patients engage in three-hour weekly group sessions, with a subsequent 6-month aftercare program. The treatment focus encompasses disease concepts, addiction/recovery goals, life skill identification and enhancement, integration into a continued support system, and abstinence. Program services include individual and group counseling, 12-step meetings, social and recreational activities, educational and vocational services, life skills training, primary health care, perinatal health care, support for family members, relapse prevention, and continuing care with supportive services like child care, transportation, and parenting skills development.
