Eligibility
Open to anyone with applicants must meet ALL of the following criteria:
- Purchasing their first home, and has not owned a home in the last 3 years
- Minimum credit score of 640
- No bankruptcies or repossessions
- Minimum savings of $1500
- Must attend Golden Neighborhoods Homeownership pre-purchase training
- Must not enter into a contract of sale prior to receiving an eligibility certificate from the City of Jersey City
- Housing must be a 1-4 family home or condominium, with compliance to Lead Based Paint Standards and local Housing Standards
- Homeowner must remain in home for at least 10 years
- HUD foreclosures, short sales, REO's and Handyman specials are not allowed
- Preference will be given to individuals and families who live in Jersey City

Completed application/registration forms, financial statements, income tax return, proof of assets, proof of children's ages, proof of income eligibility, proof of school acceptance or attendance, rent receipts
