Personal Preference Program (PPP) | NJ Division of Medical Assistance and Health Services

Eligibility

Applicants must be NJ FamilyCare Plan A eligible. Must be approved for Personal Care Assistant Services (PCA), and need PCA services for at least six months. Able to self-direct services or choose a representative who can act on his/her behalf.

If you are enrolled in a NJ FamilyCare health plan, please contact your health plan to request a PCA assessment for enrollment into PPP.

Serves as a monthly cash allowance that allows seniors and people with disabilities who are NJ Family Care participants to choose and hire anyone they want for their Personal Care Assistant (PCA) services This includes professionals, relatives, friends, and neighbors.

Offers health coverage to children, pregnant women, parents/caretaker relatives, single adults, childless couples, the aged, blind, disabled, and individuals qualified for long-term care services. Also provides comprehensive health coverage and a wide-range of services including: doctor visits, hospital services, prescriptions, tests, vision care, mental health care, dental, nursing home care and other healthcare services, depending on the person’s eligibility category.
